Let´s build the FATT Land

Help us and be part of this adventure

FATT Festival Land

Over the past 20 years, the festival has taken place in several locations, always leaving behind a trail of music, culture, and a deep connection between people and nature. If you’ve been following us along this journey, you know that we pour love and dedication into everything we do, always with the goal of offering you the best possible experience.

But we were missing something essential: a permanent home — a space where we could grow in an organic and sustainable way. And so the dream of FATT LAND was born. Support us >

Do You Know FATT?

The Festival of Tribal and Traditional Arts (FATT) was born in 2002, created by the Portuguese Didgeridoo Association. For over 20 years, it has spread music, culture, and a connection with nature across various locations in Portugal.

In 2024, we took the first step toward something bigger: finding a permanent space where the festival can grow with more comfort, structure, and sustainability. This is how the dream of FATT LAND was born — a magical land in Ribeira do Ruivo (São Teotónio, Odemira), ready to flourish with your help.

Now is the time to build this new phase with permanent infrastructure, shaded areas, ecological toilets, showers, accessible paths, and much more. We believe that together we can make FATT LAND a reality.

FATT is organized by the Portuguese Didgeridoo Association (APD), a non-profit organization that promotes the Didgeridoo and its Australian Aboriginal culture. Organizing a festival like this requires dedication, love, and many resources.

The APD team has fought hard to keep the festival alive, but the truth is we need support to take the next step. FATT LAND is our vision for the future — a space where we can continue to celebrate tribal and traditional arts, promote sustainability, and build a vibrant community.

We know there's still a lot to do, and our final goal is to raise at least €10,000

How can you help?

We are launching this crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for building the essential infrastructure for the festival.

FATT Festival Land
  • Shaded Areas:
  • Alentejo summers are intense! We want to install shaded zones so everyone can relax and enjoy every moment comfortably.
  • Toilets and Showers:
  • Because everyone's well-being is a priority, we want to build proper toilets and showers. Hygiene is very important. We need new facilities that are functional, eco-friendly, and accessible.
  • Land leveling:
  • Some areas of the land need to be prepared to create safer access paths, trails, and flat spaces for various activities.
  • Planting native trees:
  • Let's make FATT LAND greener and more alive with species such as cork oaks, holm oaks, olive trees, strawberry trees, pines, and other native trees from the region.
  • Workshop and activity zones:
  • FATT is all about sharing. To host workshops, intimate concerts, and other experiences, we need to create suitable and inspiring spaces.
